SHORT BIO As At Oct09
“The Medics sounded like early Radiohead . . . in the best possible way.”
Live Review - Beat Magazine (Melbourne) Oct 09
The Medics have garnered acclaim in their hometown of Cairns, far north Queensland as a young energetic indie band with insightful songs wide in scope and musical sounds: quiet ambience, epic build ups, breakdowns, light and shade, delicate and intense.
The stunning second EP "This Boat We Call Love" produced by Mark Myers from The Middle East featuring focus tracks “Joseph” and “Her Song” is to be released in early 2010 through Starving Kids/MGM.
Jhindu Lawrie, Charles Thomas, Andrew Thomson and Kahl Wallace arrange electric & acoustic guitars, bass, drums, glockenspiel, keyboards, percussion and 3-part vocal harmonies. As a tight knit four piece they are rapidly gaining a reputation across Australia for their powerful and passionate energy on stage.
