Please don’t reboot Charmed

TV writer RHIANNON POPE takes a look back at cult 90s/00s TV show Charmed and why it doesn’t need a prequel reboot. Charmed was a television show in 1998 to 2006 following three/four sister who find out they’re witches destined to fight demons and other things that go bump in the night. Similarly to Buffy The Vampire Slayer the show was big on girl power and women in control but it also promoted the power of family and sisterhood which is why the Charmed reboot in the works is A Giant Mistake!!!!! SK TV writer RHIANNON POPE puts on her rants pants about TV shows that don’t seem to know much about their fans. As you might have guessed I really like television. Telling a story over years gives the writers more of a chance to develop and grow the story. But…. there are a lot of times when someone in the crew be it actors, directors or writer have lapses in judgment. To fix this issue i’ve created a new job! The fan consultant. The fan consultant is a T.V fanRead More

Master of Thoughtful, Feelgood TV

English teacher and guest blogger Jimi Beavis provides some thoughts on Master Of None. I have nearly finished the second season of Netflix’s Master of None and it is already making me think about it when I am far away from a position where I can watch it. I think about the characters and what they go through. It is truly beautiful and also innovative and one that stands up to many others of the Golden Age of TV, and many other films based around 30-somethings who face mortality, life and love. ItRead More

TV writer RHIANNON POPE highlights 7 Plot points The Vampire Diaries universe just happens to share with the Buffy- verse. I would like to begin saying that i have not read the vampire diaries books and since they were written in the early nineties maybe it was buffy that stole the idea. Either way some of the “Shared” plot points get too specific and the characters seem to share their personalities/rolls in the story so i feel the need to point them out. First let’s play a game of “WhoRead More

Game of Deaths: GoT’s most satisfying

Game of Thrones is starting a little later this year so tide us over for the next 10 weeks, our TV writer Rhiannon Pope gives us her most satisfying Game of Thrones deaths. I know, how original. Game Of Thrones is probably the biggest show on television and part of what makes it so infamous is it’s total lack of plot armour. Plot armour is when no main character will die because they are the main character. In Game Of Thrones this is completely ignored with 196 named characters being brutallyRead More

TV writer RHIANNON POPE lets loose on Supernatural. In 2005  a new show appeared on the CW with the tag line “scary just got sexy.” Supernatural is a fantasy series about two brothers named Sam and Dean who hunt ghosts, demons and other things that go bump in the night with the help of their pet angel Castiel. The show has followed Sam and Dean’s exploits for the last twelve years and it doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon with season 13 confirmed. This is great for most fansRead More
